In a recent study, the researchers have studied the post-acute phase symptoms of the COVID-19 recovered patients for 6 months and found an increased risk of specific clinical sequelae across multiple organ systems, including cardiovascular, neurologic, kidney, respiratory, and mental health complications.
These symptoms not only prevailed in older people or people with preexisting conditions but also many younger people, including those with no previous history of health issues. It can be regarded as Long COVID or Long Haulers.
Thus the study necessitated the efforts for reducing the spread of COVID-19, reduction in deaths and hospital admittances and also to consider the longer-term effects on healthcare systems throughout the world.
